Will I need to have teeth removed before treatment?
Usually, you won’t have to have any teeth removed in anticipation of Invisalign treatment. Teeth removal before Invisalign is a very rare occurrence.
Can you drink with Invisalign?
You shouldn’t be drinking anything aside from water while wearing your Invisalign; however, it is permissible to drink hot drinks, juices, fizzy drinks, or alcohol when you take your Invisalign out.
Anything but water will stain the plastic, so be sure to rinse your mouth after drinking and before placing your Invisalign back in your mouth.
Can you eat with Invisalign?
Invisalign should always be removed before eating, as the plastic isn’t designed to withstand the pressure of biting and chewing. If you eat while wearing your Invisalign, you run the risk of breaking the aligners and disrupting or prolonging your treatment.
What can’t you eat with Invisalign?
Even when you remove your Invisalign, there are some foods that you should limit your intake of. These include especially crunchy and sticky foods.
This is because crunchy foods can cause your teeth to chip and break, and these teeth will need to be fixed or replaced before you can continue with treatment. Similarly, sticky foods can get lodged between your teeth, interfering with your straightening treatment, and causing plaque and bacteria build-up.

Can you smoke with Invisalign?
If you are a smoker, you should only smoke when your Invisalign is out of your mouth. Smoking while wearing your aligners can result in obvious staining.
Can you vape with Invisalign?
As with smoking, vaping can stain your Invisalign. Therefore, you should remove your aligners before vaping.
How do you take care of the aligners?
The best way to clean your aligners is by brushing and rinsing them in lukewarm water. You can also purchase Invisalign cleaner crystals or special cleaning tablets.
It’s important to always clean your teeth before reinserting your Invisalign, as food residue can result in the staining of your aligners.
What if you lose or break an aligner?
In the instance that you lose or break a retainer, you’ll need to inform your Invisalign dentist immediately. They will advise you about the best course of action, which may be wearing an old set of aligners or ordering replacement aligners.
What happens when you’ve completed Invisalign treatment?
In most cases, you will be required to wear a retainer after Invisalign treatment for 20 to 22 hours of the day. Over time, you’ll gradually be able to reduce how much you wear your Invisalign retainer after treatment until you only wear it at night.
Despite this, your dentist will inform you of what stage in the process you are in.
